Everyday the conditions of the earth's atmosphere changes and we call this weather. One of the many types of weather is rain. We consider rain as water droplets falling from the atmosphere. The question is where does rain come from and how does it occur? This is all thanks to the Water Cycle. The next logical question is how does the water cycle even work? It all starts at a large body of water. This could be a lake, river, sea, or ocean. Next the sun evaporates the water and turns it into a gas called water vapor. This water vapor rises up into the atmosphere and cools down to form a liquid. This also mixes with dust and other particles to form the commonly known cloud. Over time this cloud starts to form bigger and bigger, allowing the water droplets to become heavier. When the water droplets are heavy enough they fall down from the atmosphere onto the ground. This is called rain. The water droplets could also go into a body of water or be absorbed by the ground. The process repeats forever, which is why we call it the Water Cycle. So the next time it rains, remember that the water cycle is responsible for it!
